Understanding and Communicating with a Person Who Is Experiencing Mania

Sleek and stylish, FATAL ATTRACTION became one of the all-time most successful thrillers. It was considered "the" date movie of the late 1980s. It had everyone arguing in the aisles. Does Michael Douglas deserve the unwanted attention he and his family are receiving at the hands of loony stalker Glenn Close? After a weekend extramarital affair with seductive colleague Alex Forest (Close), Dan Gallagher (Douglas), a New York attorney, returns home to his wife (Anne Archer). Alex becomes progressively angrier, more posessive, controlling and ultimately dangerous and psychotic.

Directed by Adrian Lyne, this is not your average thriller, as it garnered six Academy Award nominations. The plot is too obvious, but the dialogue rings true and the intense performances hold the story together. Anne Archer deserves kudos for side-stepping cliché as the strong but frightened wife, and Close is enthralling as she dominates the energy of this film.

This special letterbox format video release also includes the film's controversial original ending, which was reshot after poor preview screenings. Also included here is a special introductory segment with director Adrian Lyne.
